Autoflege Assures Successful Completion of Basement Waterproofing Project at Housing Society in Indirapuram, GHAZIABAD, and UTTAR PRADESH
Autoflege Construction Chemicals has completed a basement waterproofing job at a residential society in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, by working on around 6,000 square feet of underground parking and storage area at the site for the society’s Resident Welfare Association.
Water-related destruction is one of the big problems plaguing buildings in the Delhi NCR region, and due to drastic changes in water levels, in addition to heavy rainfall during monsoons and scorching summers, the area experiences continuous seepage and deterioration. The work started when the residents made complaints about waterlogging and wetness in the basement parking area for the first two monsoons, and there was deposition of efflorescence on the pillars.
Autoflege’s technical team found the problem of seepage through different means such as hairline cracks present in the walls of the basement and also some construction joints present close to the entrance ramp which had not been properly sealed leading to the entry of water into the basement during the period of high water table.

The key highlights of the project features, among others, the following deliverables:
• Surface preparation such as removing broken plaster, and cleaning of the affected areas.
• Crack filling along the retaining wall using polyurethane grout.
• Application of DRYFIKS products on the affected areas.
• Sealing the construction joint of the ramp entry using a flexible sealant to allow for future structural movement.
• The work was finished in more than 10 workdays.
• Verified with a controlled flood test on treated portions before the handover.
“The ramp joint was the primary access point in the process of construction, and it might be relatively easy to overlook during construction, as it takes a considerable time of exposure to water before it leaks,” says Autoflege’s spokesperson. “In fact, once we sealed the joint and treated the walls, the flood test was performed without visible leakages.”
The society’s basement has remained dry even during the first heavy rainfall in this monsoon season since the works have been completed.
It is one of many other basement waterproofing projects that have been implemented by Autoflege in Ghaziabad and Delhi NCR area in the last year in response to increasing demand for rehabilitation waterproofing in the light of growing intensity of monsoon rains.
